Police investigate after shots fired, then fire breaks out in West Side building

CHICAGO — Police are investigating whether a Molotov cocktail was used to start a fire on the city’s West Side.

Around 2:40 a.m., officers responded to a call of shots fired at a two-flat in the 500 block of North Central Park Avenue.

A man told them he was sleeping on the first floor of the building when he heard gunshots and glass breaking.

Then he noticed the room was on fire.

No one was injured.
