WILLOWBROOK, Ill. — A search continues for the man who brutally attacked a woman in her home in Willowbrook over the weekend.
A car was found parked on a street in Brookfield overnight and it matches the description of the attacker’s car.
Detectives checked it out early this morning before it was towed away, but police are not confirming it is the car.
On Sunday, police released a sketch of the man they say stabbed and sexually assaulted the 26-year-old woman Saturday afternoon.
Police say he pulled up into the woman’s driveway and asked her for money. She refused and went inside the home. He got out and asked to use the phone; she said no through a window. Then he forced his way into the home and stabbed her 17 times, including her face, liver and kidney. He also beat her, breaking six bones in her face, and sexually assaulted her.
She remains in intensive care.
The suspect, who police say is ‘very dangerous,’ is described as an African-American man in his 30s, skinny, around 5 feet 10 inches and 160-180 lbs. His hair was pulled or combed back and had dread-like curls. He was wearing khaki shorts and a blue shirt.
The suspect was seen driving a dark blue Nissan Altima with an Indiana license plate and tinted windows.
