TORONTO — The commissioner of the NHL gave his first comments about the Patrick Kane rape investigation.
Kane is accused of raping a woman at his home in New York last month.
Grand jury proceedings that were scheduled for last Tuesday are reportedly postponed for two weeks.
NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman says he has not attempted to talk to Kane.
He says the league is limited because players that are being investigated won’t say anything, for legal reasons.
Bettman told The Buffalo News, “It’s a terrible thing but we’re going to have to watch the process play out and at the appropriate time we’ll make whatever decisions have to be made at the time.”
