BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. — One person died, two others were injured in a shooting in Southwest suburban Bridgeview.
Bridgeview police received a call early Monday morning about a shooting inside a home in the 7200 block of South Roberts Road.
Neighbors had reported seeing a person dressed in black, enter the house and hearing gunshots shortly afterward.
A SWAT team responded to the house and found a fatally wounded woman in the kitchen. The woman is believed to be the shooter, according to the Bridgeview police chief.
Police say the woman somehow knew the family who lived inside the house but was not a blood relative.
The shooter reportedly had a gun and three magazines and unloaded 15 rounds in the house.
A man and his adult daughter were found shot in the basement. Both are extremely critical at Christ Hospital.
Three people, including the man’s wife, teenage daughter and son escaped.
