Skokie police officer injured in crash with stolen car

SKOKIE, Ill. — Skokie police say they are looking for three people after a stolen minivan crashed into a police car and injured a patrol officer.

Officers responded to a series of reports of car burglaries in Skokie. At least one garage was broken into, and the vehicle inside was stolen.

Police officers were chasing that stolen car, when the crash happened. The Skokie officer who was injured is expected to be OK.

Two men were arrested shortly after the crash.

A third suspect got away in another stolen car. He was caught on the city’s South Side near 59th and Halsted. The man was also taken into custody.

Police believe at least three other suspects got away.

Police say they are still searching for a stolen 2005 white Nissan Pathfinder with Illinois license plate No. H595187.
